How long is the free trial?
One full school term. The subscription charge is waived for that complete term.
Is the trial really one full school term?
Yes. It is intended for real use in your school environment for one complete term.
When does the $30 setup fee apply?
It is paid once when your school starts its free trial. It covers initial configuration and onboarding and is not charged again with later term subscriptions.
What happens after the trial?
Your school can continue on the term-pricing tier for its enrolment. Larger schools automatically receive a lower per-student rate; use the pricing calculator for an estimate.
How is the ongoing subscription calculated?
Schools with up to 100 students pay $2.00 per student per term. Schools with 101–300 students pay $1.50 per student per term, while schools with 301 or more pay $1.00 per student per term.
Can we enable more modules later?
Yes. Modules can be requested as your operations grow. Availability and any separate quotation are confirmed in consultation.
Does Tailored School work without internet?
The web portal needs internet. The Windows Desktop limited release supports selected local student and finance workflows. Teachers can mark attendance on Android without internet and sync later. Not every feature works offline.
Does the desktop application require a LAN?
No. Desktop-only mode runs on one installed computer and is the default desktop setup.
Can multiple computers use the desktop installation?
Optional LAN mode allows authorised devices on the school network to connect to one local server computer. It is not required and needs a reviewed deployment.
Does Tailored School support RFID, NFC and receipt printers?
Yes. The system supports RFID scanners and NFC for attendance, plus USB POS printers and Bluetooth thermal printers for fee receipts. You can order compatible hardware from the Store.
Is there an Android application?
Yes. It is currently being rolled out to schools. You can download the APK from the Downloads page while Google Play is being set up.
Where do I download the Windows setup?
Install PostgreSQL 18 for Windows from EnterpriseDB first, then use the Downloads page for the Tailored School desktop installer. Follow the desktop installation guide.
Who can use the mobile application?
Teachers can use class attendance and homework workflows. Students can use supported schoolwork features. Authorised admin roles can use staff attendance when enabled. Access depends on role and enabled modules.
Can parents use the system?
A parent mobile or portal experience is not currently advertised. Schools can communicate notices and configured emails to guardian contacts through supported web workflows.
Can we import existing student records?
Bulk student onboarding tools exist, but the format and suitability of existing records must be reviewed during onboarding. Import should not be assumed to be automatic.
Do we receive onboarding assistance?
Yes. The once-off setup covers initial configuration and onboarding for the school portal.
How are school records protected?
Access is authenticated, scoped to a school and controlled by user roles. Specific retention, backup and deployment responsibilities are confirmed during onboarding; no system can replace the school’s own security and backup practices.
What happens to local data before it syncs?
Supported desktop and mobile changes stay on the device with a clear status until they sync successfully. Items that fail or conflict stay available to retry or review—they are not discarded quietly.
