Coming soon Roadmap
Accounting built for schools.
Tailored School already has a real double-entry accounting engine. Next we are turning it into everyday school finance — banking, receivables, payables, and reports — without making bursars live in debits and credits.
What is coming
Accounting will sit on top of the finance work schools already do: fees, invoices, student payments, expenses, budgets, and cashbook. Routine operations will post to the general ledger automatically. One source of truth — not a fees balance in one place and an accounting balance in another.
Designed for the bursar first
Normal school users should almost never see Debit and Credit. Accountants configure mappings once; day-to-day work stays in school language.
- Generate a tuition invoice → student receivables and tuition income update automatically
- Parent pays cash or EcoCash → cash/mobile money and receivables update automatically
- Receive or pay a supplier bill → expenses, payables, and bank update automatically
- Transfer between cash and bank → both accounts stay balanced
Manual journal entries remain available under Advanced for accountants who need them.
Accounting workspace
Overview
A management-friendly dashboard: cash and bank, receivables, payables, income this term, expenses this term, and surplus — with charts for cash position, fee ageing, and expense categories. Multi-campus schools can filter by campus.
Banking
Cash on hand, bank accounts, EcoCash and other mobile money, petty cash. Each account shows system balance, statement balance, and difference — with reconciliation, transfers, and CSV statement import as the practical first step.
Receivables
Built around students, not generic customers: invoices, payments, allocations, class, campus, parent, fee category, current term, historical arrears, and ageing.
Payables and expenses
Proper supplier management, bills with line items and due dates, bill payments, and accounts payable ageing — Draft → Approved → Partially Paid → Paid → Voided.
Chart of Accounts and Advanced
Ledger accounts, opening balances, accounting periods, journal entries, and corrections stay available when you need full accounting control.
Reports
Branded, printable reports schools actually use:
- Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Trial Balance, General Ledger
- Fees billed vs collected, debtors ageing, collection by fee category, class, and campus
- Expenses by category and supplier, payables ageing, budget vs actual
- Cashbook, bank reconciliation, and cash movement
What comes after the first release
Once the core is stable: fixed assets and depreciation, VAT/tax configuration, recurring journals, prepayments and accruals, payroll journal integration, multi-currency gains and losses, year-end closing, and stronger audit controls. Those will not block the first school-ready release.
How to follow along
